With the London Dungeon’s recent move to Southbank, the show has become a brand new, scarily fun experience that incorporates audience participation and tongue in cheek humour to create a memorable show that draws on London’s dark fictional and historical past.We interviewed Richard Quincey Head of Performance and Show Development at the London Dungeon to see what really goes on in our most cryptic venue and to find out how they ensure guests receive an immersive and enjoyable experience!

Does email feedback suffice or do London venues really analyse customer feedback?
20 Aug 2013
This blog post was written by Michael Aldridge, General Manager of Events, Merlin Events London on Tuesday 3rd September We all like to give ourselves a pat on the back because we've had a good feedback email from a client about their recent party at our venue, but how do you analyse this feedback and use it constructively to improve the business? We all like to think that we are loved by our clients and we have the best team in the industry. Some of us are slightly more realistic and understand the relationship is not unlike that of siblings - a bit more love and hate on the odd occasion!

It’s hot and so is Christmas at our party venues!
25 Jul 2013
As the temperatures have been soaring over 35 degrees and we have had the driest day in 267 years (have we really been measuring rain fall for that long?) It seems the hot weather has brought out the Christmas cheer and enquires for Christmas have been coming in steady here at Merlin Events. However, they are not just any, it’s all about blood and gore. The clients want an anti-Christ Christmas solution and the London Dungeon with impaled Santa and Rudolf trapped in a bear trap seems to appeal.

How to avoid a sticky situation at a cocktail party
10 Jun 2013
This week, Bella Blackett from Dish Catering shares her thoughts on the best bites for networking.'We have all attended networking events where the food is more hassle than it’s worth. Do you sacrifice quality to get the ‘price right’ for a Christmas shared party?
08 May 2013
Shared parties have become part of the business mix for unique venues in London. Initially the product offered to a client was a higher standard than some of the marquee companies. However since 2008 it became obvious that clients were mainly interested in ‘cost per head’ with an average budget of £80 plus vat. London Event Venues found it difficult to compete with large operators such as ‘Best Parties Ever’ and ‘Concerto Group’. Last year when I carried out mystery shopping I was able to buy a three-course meal in a large venue with unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks and entertainment for about £60 plus vat in central London. What a bargain!

I’ve hired the venue, now where is the party?
07 Feb 2013
As the banking industry lurches from one miss selling scandal to another, the event industry dusts itself off after what could be called a challenging period. However, with some positives London 2012 really did show that the events industry is a business and not some kind of hobby that can be directed from a spare bedroom.
